How can I make my patio investment last longer?

Schedule a time for us to come out every two years for an inspection. At that time we can see if any caps need re-glued or if any pavers have sunk.

Ponds

What fall maintenance is required?

Remove leaves and sticks for an easier spring clean-out. Debris left to rot in the pond will eventually decompose, producing gases that may be harmful to your fish. To avoid this, pond netting should be installed late September/ early October. Fall is also a great time to transition over to the Mock Spring & Fall Formula. This bacteria is formulated to work in colder water temperatures. Have fish? They too will need to get winter ready by feeding them a low-temp food. This will allow their bodies to process the food at the lower water temperatures, yet still bulk up for their winter hibernation.

Ponds

What seasonal maintenance is required?

To help establish and maintain your ponds eco-system, you will want to add your Mock 4-in-1 Beneficial Bacteria once a week throughout the season. Plants are KEY to water clarity! We suggest 40-50% surface coverage, as well as oxygenators, to help keep the green water out of your pond. When your aquatic plants are actively growing, you’ll need to remove any yellowing leaves and spent flowers, especially on water lilies. As build-up begins to occur from fish waste, uneaten fish food, and plant decay, you will want to add Mock Sludge Digester along with your Mock 4-in-1 Bacteria on a weekly basis.

Ponds

What summer maintenance is required?

Make sure your water level stays where it should be so the pump and/or skimmer are able to operate properly. Continue to add your weekly dose of Mock 4-in-1 Beneficial Bacteria along with your Mock Sludge Digester. Prune and fertilize your plants to help promote strong growth and blooms. Remember to feed your “finned friends” a quality fish food, which will help promote brighter colors and a healthier fish. Fish should be fed twice a day, only what they will eat in 1-2 minutes. Over feeding can result in poor water quality. If an algae bloom occurs, you can use an algaecide as a last resort treatment…and use with CAUTION. Please contact one of our highly trained staff before starting any treatments, we are here to help you through the process!

Outdoor Kitchens

What maintenance is required by the owner?

As inside your home, general cleaning is important for maintaining materials

Ponds

What spring maintenance is required?

Spring is the best time to clean out your pond. We suggest setting up a secondary hold tank to house your fish while a full clean-out is performed.

Ponds

What winter maintenance is required?

Pumps should be removed and submerged in a bucket of water for the winter. Install a floating heater/de-icer in combination with a small submersible pump/aerator to help maintain fish health during the harsh winter months

Pondless® Waterfall

What maintenance is required by the owner?

Pondless® Waterfalls are simply a re-circulating waterfall and/or stream without the presence of a pond.  You can enjoy the sight and sound of running water without the maintenance of a pond. Disconnect pump/drain water lines and store pump in a bucket of water over the winter.
